Elliott Slaughter

President

Elliott (Ellie as many call her) is a senior at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science who aspires to major in chemical engineering. Ellie firmly believes that everyone has a powerful voice capable of changing the world and finds that her own speaks loudest through advocacy. She has pushed for change as a part of Nightingale since its inception following the overturn of Roe v. Wade, and you may have seen her in some of our advocacy reels! When she is not studying or doing research, you can find her playing Wordle, writing poetry blurbs, and learning obscure German vocabulary.

Ishani Gandi

She/Her

President

Ishani Gandi, a senior at Carroll Senior High School, is passionate about increasing medical accessibility and is excited to serve as the Nightingale President this year. She is a strong contender that healthcare should be within the reach of all families. As a two-time Chapter President at her campus, she has organized a series of high-impact political initiatives, fundraisers, and regional medical events to champion health policy reform. In her free time, she fundraises for the American Red Cross, writes her book, and researchers the philosophy behind literature.

Anshika Solleti

Vice President

Anshika, a senior at Carroll Senior High School, is committed to advocating for the underrepresented and overshadowed. She was inspired to join Nightingale Advocacy due to her passion for women’s reproductive rights and co-founded the Nightingale chapter at Carroll. There, as President, she took initiative to promote philanthropy and advocacy through partnerships with various community organizations and professionals. Outside of Nightingale, Anshika also volunteers with the North Texas Red Cross and is part of the Southlake Carroll Color Guard. In her free time she enjoys training at the gym, listening to 21 and Mac Miller, and spending time with her loved ones.

Mohana Dayyam

A current senior at Heritage High School and an aspiring physician, Mohana is one of the Vice Presidents on the Nightingale Advocacy Executive Board this year. Through her role, Mohana strives to bring more awareness about healthcare policy and expand the impact that Nightingale Advocacy has on students potentially nationwide. Last year, she worked as an Engagement Officer on the Executive Board, where she worked to drive interconnection, build relationships within the organization, and recruit members. Beyond her involvement with Nightingale Advocacy, Mohana can be found volunteering at local hospitals, playing every New York Times game daily, curating hyper-specific Pinterest boards, or hanging out with her friends.

Saanvi Mishra

Engagement Officer

Saanvi is a junior at Panther Creek High School with aspirations to pursue a medical career to make a significant impact in people’s lives. Through Nightingale, she aims to broaden her perspective on healthcare and empower others to drive positive change in their communities. Saanvi leads her school’s Color Guard team and has a long-standing passion for dance, her favorite activity. When she isn’t working on school or color guard, you can find her learning TikTok dances with her friends!

Srilasya Kamma

Srilasya is a senior at Liberty High School who seeks to encourage community involvement in healthcare policy as an Engagement Officer at Nightingale Advocacy. Outside of her medical advocacy she loves travelling, listening to crime podcasts, reading books, spending time out in the sun or trying out new things. A fun fact about her is that she’s been on the 2nd longest zipline in the world while it was raining!

Arjun Patil

Arjun is a senior at Flower Mound High School. At school, he is an officer of the Varsity Speech & Debate Team, and he enjoys playing the piano, running, and cooking. He is excited to be a part of Nightingale’s Youth Executive Board, and he hopes to further our mission of promoting awareness and action around medical advocacy!

Lakshmi Katuri

Lakshmi is a senior at Plano Senior High School and is one of the new Marketing and Digital Media Directors! She enjoys trying out new restaurants, watching TV shows, and a indulging in a good shopping spree. She is passionate about women’s rights as well as environmental issues, and is excited to utilize short-form media as a platform for health policy advocacy.

Sarika Ramesh

Sarika is a senior at Carroll Senior High School and a dedicated member of Nightingale since 2023. In her time with her chapter, she has managed dues and attendance while also capturing every event and meeting through her photography. Beyond Nightingale, Sarika channels her creativity into assembling the yearbook and loves hiking, cooking, and, of course, taking photos. She’s thrilled to step into the role of Communications Chair this year, eager to advocate for better healthcare policies and make a bigger impact.

Vrinda Somisetty

Vrinda is a senior at liberty High School. As an aspiring medical professional, she is eager to optimize patient care and recovery by advocating for health awareness and equal healthcare access. Through Nightingale Advocacy, she hopes to share her passion for writing and empower youth to take initiative toward healthcare policy and legal reform. When she is not working, you can find her dancing, jamming to music, or exploring different cuisines.

Aniruddh Subramanian

Aniruddh (Ani) is an incoming junior at Flower Mound High School pursuing the field of law. At school, he is a member of the Speech and Debate Team and Model United Nations. Ani loves to read political memoirs, write poetry, and watch thriller movies in his free time. He believes that anyone, including students, can make changes in policy reform and encourages others to discuss pressing social issues and have the meaningful conversations.

Akshiti Gundala

Akshiti (or Maha, which she usually goes by) is a junior in the Dallas area. She has been passionate about healthcare becoming a fundamental human right ever since she joined Nightingale during her freshman year. In her leisure time, Maha reads novels that explore her interests, likes to travel to new places, enjoys playing tennis with her friends, and actively engages within her community. Her commitment to service underscores her dedication to making a positive impact wherever she goes.

Aviral Srivastava

A rising junior at Independence High School, Aviral has a passion for medicine and hopes to pursue it in the future. Outside of school, some of his interests include biking, photography, researching, and other activities towards the medical path! Aligning closely with Nightingale’s vision, he similarly believes in promoting innovation and equity within medicine in order to ensure fair treatment is being given to all. He is excited to be a part of the Executive Board this school year and being able to promote awareness for medicine and public health.

Ananya Bommareddy

As a senior at Flower Mound High School, Ananya can be found partaking in varsity debate alongside a slew of on-campus organizations. This year, as an Advocacy Officer, she aims to drive local legislation reform that addresses community issues by collaborating with local authorities and changemakers. Beyond her academic and Nightingale commitments, Ananya enjoys participating in dance workshops, community activities through Girl Scouts, traveling, and spending time with friends. A notable fun fact about her: she has danced with over seven Bollywood celebrities!

Mira is a senior at Uplift North Hills Preparatory in Dallas, TX. Impassioned by her own experiences with medical inaccessibility, she is using her position to bring equal opportunity for all — regardless of socioeconomic status. An avid reader, artist, and movie-goer, you can find her cuddled in a warm blanket with the latest Laufey book club read.

Srinjoy is a current senior at The Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science, and his interests include working out, researching, cooking, and dancing. Srinjoy loves giving back to his local community and bring light to pressing issues. Through Nightingale, he is looking forward to helping guide others in their path of political expression and statement.

Harsh Singh

Currently a freshman at Stanford University, Harsh started Nightingale Advocacy with Aditi in July 2022, shortly after the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Frustrated with the state of healthcare policy in the United States, Nightingale became his outlet for working toward youth-led political change. After serving as president alongside Aditi on a two-year term, he is thrilled to continue his journey as an advisor to Nightingale’s Executive Board. In his free time, Harsh loves going to the gym, downing 12-oz cans of Celsius, and binge-watching White Collar (sometimes all at the same time!).

Aditi is a freshman at Dartmouth College planning to major in neuroscience and ultimately attend medical school. After joining debate in high school, she began to take increased interest in existing health policy injustice and realized that far too many of her peers were unaware of persistent inequities. She worked with Harsh to found Nightingale and finally change that narrative. When she’s not working with Nightingale or at school, you can find her reading memoirs, listening to Matt Maltese, and doing research on the neuroscience of taste.
